This years offseason projects were mostly just patching stuff up that had fallen apart during the summer and finally getting around to some projects that were will down the to do list. Thomas Marine replaced the ladder to the fly bridge which had gotton pretty shaky over the past two years and never really recovered from the patches put in to extend the ladder over the original 1995 bait tank. Flybridge Ladder ) The 1 inch Starboard steps looked so good that we decided to replace a lot of the teak trim with Starboard. With the rains in January the laminate on the panel door on the port side finally separated from the plywood and the door and jamb had to replaced with glassed and painted plywood. Panel ). The forward panel on the starboard side had not been redesigned since we moved the bait tank into the center of the cockpit to get more weight aft. The panel and the access door were replaced with Starboard. starboard panel ) The Gaff holders were redesigned and replaced and much of the trim on the salon bulkhead was replaced with Starboard. The remaining trim in the overhead will keep us busy next offseason. The AC lights mounted on the radar post were rotted out and the old teak mount was replaced Starboard and outlet boxes added to make the next light replacement easier. AC lights. ) Canvas Services also replaced the Isenglass in the sidecurtains and renewed the console cover. We replaced the head macerator pump ( which was 'phew' leaking on the last trip) and much of the sanitation tubing in the system. While we were doing the usual painting and rust proofing in the aft cockpit hatch areas we discovered some rot in the aft inboard corner of the port rudder mount. We replaced the attached mount for the trim tab hydraulics which was trapping moisture and cleaned up and filled the rotted area. A new mounting trim tab plate was placed, and bonded and thru bolted to the rudder mount. There is plenty of beef in the mount and it seems secure but probably at least the inboard vertical board should be replaced at the next haul out.
