Bruce , Erv , Buzz, Gary l, Grant Another calm day on the ocean. This time the fish were a little bit hungrier. We had just slowed down to put out the trolls when Grant spotted breaking fish 10 yards from the boat. This time they were hungry and we had 5 nice 20 lb Yellowfin in the box by 6:30 and everybody was now awake. We spent the rest of the day trolling and watching breaking fish largely ignore the Seabear. Towards the end of the day we discovered that a stealthy approach to breaking fish and chumming with chunked bait worked well. We all got plenty of rest while Grant worked on another 25lb Yellowfin with 15lb test. We finished the day with 11 nice Yellowfin 15 to 26 lbs and several small Dorado from a paddy decorated with jumping fish
With Yellowfin what you see is usually what you catch
Erv works on one of these nice Yellowfin. Note you can see the ocean pick up a bit in the afternoon
Grant entices another Yellowfin on board with light line
